Inspiration
From her experience living in Japan, Laur has immersed herself in the Japanese sensibility to living materials, and draws inspiration from the traditional 'Shibori' dyeing technique for her wallpaper collection.
Laur is in keeping with the history and tradition of wallpaper, emphasizing the idea of unique, hand-painted motifs. The collection reflects limitless artistic expression: the material crumples and vibrates; the color dilutes and comes to life. These creations invite us to dream and travel.
Creation and materials in the spotlight
Laur selects Asian papers made from natural fibers for their texture and feel. She intervenes on the material: she crumples, folds, twists, uncreases, folds, binds; she explores the fragile material of paper before painting with inks, natural pigments and mineral powders.
Following this creative stage, she highlights the material and develops the color variations of the wallpaper collection.
Collection formats
The wallpaper collection began with a proposal for a sheet format in reference to the history of wallpaper: the domino.
The collection was then enhanced with a range of formats: lé, panoramic and frieze.
A unique wall composition
These different formats offer a multitude of wall composition possibilities. This makes it possible to personalize a wall, composing it as a unique, made-to-measure décor.
Panoramic, frieze and sheet formats can be combined; domino sheets can be placed end-to-end, side-by-side, in patchwork, or with a space between each. Colors or patterns from the collection can be combined. There are no limits to the creation of unique decor.
